The fun is over

time flies like crazy when one is not at work. my maternity leave is going to end in one week' time. this is the longest break i had throughout my twelve years of work life.

Jayvier is clingy like a koala bear & will cry for mummy when he's in another person's arms for too long. we had a 'rehearsal' earlier today to have him babysit by his grandpa while hubby & i went for a hair cut. our boy started to wail pitifully even before we kiss him goodbye. it was heartbreaking to hear him cry & i had to try so hard to hold back my tears. my mother-in-law commented he's that attached to me as i have been taking care of him fully for the past four months. the feeling is mutual. i have grown very attached to my boy too. i don't dare to think about how i am going to deal with the emotional trauma when i have to say bye bye to him on 12 December.

to get back into the swing of things at work, i know i must have absolute confidence in my father-in-law. i'm sure Jayvier will be well taken care of by his grandpa. i am just hoping that my boy will not miss me too much or not remember me when i return home after a long day, from 7am to 7pm. what upset me the most is that i am going to miss most of his developmental milestones... i didn't marry a millionaire so no matter how unreluctant i am, it's time for me to snap back to the harsh reality of life & stop dreaming about being a SAHM.

Hey babe, we as mothers know exactly how you feel, perhaps that's why two and a half months would prolly be good enough for both parties to get used to being apart from each other at an earlier time.

Anyway, don't worry about missing out on his developmental milestones, I'm sure you'll be able to watch them like I did. Just take note of them and continue to be amazed at how fast they grow!

Welcome back to work and hope you'll grow to enjoy the well-balanced life of being a mother as well as having extra income for your future! ;)

i can't imagine the old days where mothers were given less than two months of maternity leave.

just realized it's better to start work on a mid-week as it will be closer to the weekend. so i will return to work this week instead. c u on thurs!
